I've installed the 3CX Android application version 16.0.0.35. I noticed that when I use another app or just go to the home screen, the app doesn't seem to run in the background.

I then discovered this article https://www.3cx.com/docs/#h.mig0jt9wmac7 which required me to go through a bunch of hoops to get push working. Unfortunately, the instructions do not work. It says to first use "Advance Settings" to set a location before creating the project. There is no Advanced Settings option. I thought I would just create the project and see if I could find the location settings and found a big Label on the screen that says Location. It does nothing. No option list, no field for input.

Then I tried to find the Google Cloud Mapping API in the library but that does not exist.

Can anyone tell me how I can get push to work?

I started to do this then got to the step that said:

3. Click on the Cloud Messaging tab, and you will see Server key and Sender ID.

I don't see any place to get a server key or sender id on this Cloud Messaging page. I then thought, why is it so difficult to get an app to work in the background? Why am I going through all these hoops when the app should be designed to work in the background in the first place.

Can you take a screenshot of it

No. I've given up on this. I don't want to pay for this service just to get the app to run in the background when it should have been designed to do that in the first place. Thanks for offering to help but consider this closed.

Why does it tell me that I must turn off billing in order to use the free version? I have billing on because I have other Google products that I need to be billed for.

After reading this link again, I see it says:

3CX pre-configures Firebase for you using its own Google account. You only need to follow the below procedure if you wish to channel push messaging via your own Google account.

When I originally posted it was because the app wasn't waking up when it was closed and I was in another app or at the home screen. Actually, it was somewhat intermittent and works some times.

Also make sure there are no data saver or power saver features enabled or go into advanced power management on the phone and exclude the 3CX app from these features.

I've found that most of the users that miss inbound calls or the app won't wake on a call is due to them enabling some sort of power save or data save feature on their phones.
