Hello everybody, I’m running several PBX (mostly Pi3) with v16.0.16 that are not showing the upgrade to v18 nor the debian upgrade 9 to 10 banner.
It doesn’t look like a Pi3 problem because i succeded in updating one right now that was correctly showing the update banner.
I tried a restart too but nothing shows up.
Since v16 will be soon EOL, suggestions?
Thank you.

Hi @alberto.azzini,

What OS and version are running on the pis currently?

Via SSH, if you run sudo apt update does it show any errors or warnings?

Also could you post here the output of commands lsb_release -a and dpkg --print-architecture?

Hello i have the same problem the v18 update was shown around chrismas but i didnt hade time to update
so i wanted to to do it last weekend and the option to update is no longer showing up

pbx is on 16.0.8.16 on a pi

at sudo get update i got

E: Repository 'http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian buster InRelease' changed its 'Suite' value from 'stable' to 'oldstable'
N: This must be accepted explicitly before updates for this repository can be applied. See apt-secure(8) manpage for details.
Do you want to accept these changes and continue updating from this repository?

OK, so you are already on Debian 10 Buster now, so I am surprised that the Management Console is showing you the V18 update.

Can you please do 2 things:
  • Run command dpkg -l | grep 3cxpbx and tell me what it says.
  • Check in the 3CX Management Console --> Settings --> Updates, what you see (send screenshot)

Ok so dpkg -l | grep 3cxpbx shows
ii 3cxpbx 16.0.8.16 armhf 3CX PBX

and the update screenshot

OK, because the OS is already on Debian 10, even though you have V16 now, the upgrade will not appear.
The in-line upgrade of V16 to V18 happens at the same time as the upgrade from Deb9 to Deb10.
Because the OS upgrade is not needed, that is why you are getting no options to do the V16 --> V18 in the MC now.

Solution:
You need to re-install 3cx V18 and restore a backup.

Take a full backup of your V16 as it is now, download the backup to your PC, the re-install V18 on your RPi as the guide explains here, then restore your backup when the 3CX Config Wizard prompts you (you might as well format the SD card as well to do a clean install of the OS...).

i did the reinstall yesterday and it worked thanks for the help
