Hi there,

We have recently moved to an active/standby SIP trunk (IP Based) from a single registration based SIP trunk. We ported our numbers from old (VoIP Unlimited) to new (Gamma), and all was well with that bit. We done the acceptance testing with their test number, all was good.

When we migrated I had to remove the old SIP trunk, and add the new 2 trunks. As part of this, I assigned the DIDs to both trunks, so if the primary trunk failed, 3CX new they existed on the other trunk also. I also re-done the inbound rules as we have DIDs for the sales team, some of tech etc. Now, whilst both trunks have 01622 123456 (example number) added to them, I cannot get to the IVR (assigned 01622 123456 as a DID) via the active or standby trunk. Instead, our Gamma Inbound system sees the line as unavailable, and fails over to our GSM gateways.

Now, when I remove 01622 123456 from the standby trunk, et voila, it works flawlessly. I done some digging whilst at work, and thought about it in the car, and here I am. I read on another 3CX post (source) that you can only share the same numbers, on multiple trunks if they're registration based, not IP based.

It appears the Gamma acceptance tests, don't test for DDI's working and what not, so of course, we only find this out now.

I may be missing something glaringly obvious, so hoping someone can point me in the right direction please?

Many thanks,
Ash

Okay, I have now fixed this, it was a PEBKAC issue ;) The call source identification field had changed, so I've set it back to "From: Host Part". Not sure how, or by whom, whoever it's now working as I expected.

If an admin fancied closing this, please feel free to do so!

Thanks
