Up grade from ver 3.0.2328 to ver 3.1

Hi,

I'm not crossing posting. I post in the wrong forum


I’m using ver. 3.02328.0.

Is any way to do an upgrade to ver 3.1.2434 keeping the original configurations (sip lines as well as extensions) ?

I do not want to install every line and extension again.

Backup the system configuration file first, then do the in place upgrade. It will keep all the previous configurations. The system configuration backup file just in case the in place upgrade failed for restore purpose.

BTW make sure that you don't have a popup blocker in your browser because it will probably block the popup that asks you where to save the backup... Just mentioning this because I had some other issue related to this just yesterday.

Please find it as below:

Login 3CX console (http://3cxbox IP:5481) at General=>Backup and restore=>Backup database

Backup your system configuration to file, and optionally backup call history and voice prompts.

To restore your system, click on the restore button and select the backup file.

Just remeber that at this time you cannot backup your VM greetings and any saved VMs. To back these up - go the server IVR Voicemail folder and make a copy of the folders and files.

Thanks for pointing this deficientcy out. If this is the case shouldn't someone from development be looking into changing the backup routine to include these folders. Then it would be a true backup/restore functionality; otherwise you are just setting people up for a fall if they feel they "are" backing up.
