update 3cx v15 license

Hi

We have a server currently setup with a 64 concurrent call license, we are hitting our concurrent call limit on this pbx.

we have a spare 128 concurrent call license which we would like to use on this server, is there a way to apply this license key without having to reinstall?

Currently no. To apply a new licence you will need to re-install the system and re-install by applying a backup.
To do so:
Create a backup of the system without including licence and FQDN information.
Un-install the system
Release the FQDN from the key
Re-install the system using the backup and the new key.

thanks for the reply.

that is unfortunate, i feel like this is a step backwards from v14 as this was possible to do then.

The devs really need to work on making these things easier then a complete reinstall every time you need to change something simple.

I See what has been said, i love the product and i understand the are working on it. It is just very frustrating when you have to do re installs for things like this and there are still things apart from this which should be simple changes that require a reinstall as well.

I fully understand your fustration, but for this we just have to wait for the next SP.
This is based on the answer "Currently No" and that @YiannisH_3CX do not mention that you could make an Idea, and the fact that "Replace License Key" is in the 15.5 Beta makes me believe that you will have this option in the next SP, if nothing goes wrong

Please note that with every version we are reducing the need for the system to be re-installed because of changes that may be required.
The licence in V15 does not work the same way it used to work in V14 as it is now bound to the FQDN and this also affects the certificate generation. This is why you currently need to re-install.
As @jed has mentioned we are working towards removing the need to do so. It remains to be seen if the change will be included in the final version of the next release.
