Not sure who to point this out too but this post is much needed in the documentation to provision Grandstream 1620 phones.

The part that says "
You are correct to advise that "Make sure when you put in the server config path you are putting in the provisioning URL without the https:// since you've already selected HTTPS right above"

For future reference it might be helpful to mention that in the manual provisioning guide, since it does tell you to 'copy & paste' the link from when you set up the phone in management console. Or perhaps the system could parse the URL and strip out a 'double https:' if present."

From my experience with GS phones, the HTTPS:// was always removed once I applied the config then started provisioning. It shouldn't cause an issue but those phones are pretty old and EOL, so I don't think the docs will be updated ;)

With all due respect. Saw this exact issue on two 1620 phones yesterday. This recommend post was the only thing the resolve the issue.

I suggest you open a ticket with Grandstream concerning both models, this is most surely a firmware issue. The GXP17xx and 21xx don't have this issue.
