Updating issues 3CX installed on standard Debian 10

Hi

I am running 3CX on a standard Debian 10 (Buster) installation, i.e I installed the OS from Debian repositories, added the 3CX repositories and installed. Yes, this was installed the "hard" way. I have bee using Debian for a long time and have very particular way in installing it. The 3CX Debian ISO did not off all the installation features that I am accustomed to. This worked really well for the last 8 months - absolutely not issues. Then came the update to 18.05.xxx which was a required update by t he 30th November - according to a number of email i received from 3CX.
I run and update by the usual:
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
All updated except the 3cxpbx package. It was missing a dependency: libmediainfo0v5. A quick search revealed that this package is infact available in the stander Debian 10 repository, so was somewhat confused. This is when I discovered that the 3CX installation change the contents of my /etc/apt/source.list file. No sure why it does this (yes I have seen this mentioned in other posts) or why it is needed. I certainly not happy about it. It seem that the 3CX repositories is missing dependency required of the upgrade. No sure how else to deal with this quickly I did the following:

1. Moved the contents of my overwritten source.list file to a 3cx_<moved>.list to /etc/source.list.d
2. Returned content of the source.list the way is was for Debian 10
3. Upgraded. Here I noticed a large number of other files that also needed updating, PostgreSQL and NGINX for example.
4. Installed the libmediainfo0v5
5. Ran update again

This time, the 3cxpbx package update, I am now running 18.05.xxx. The system was updated.

However!

Due to a block I placed on 3CX updating my source.list, I notice that the move list (from step 1 above) did not change and is still pointing to http://repo.3cx.com/debian/1803 buster/main amd64 Packages
I suspect that this will be a problem. Based on a number of other posts I changed this to http://repo.3cx.com/debian/1805 buster/main amd64 Packages. Also I am not sure, if I had damaged the system by doing this. At the moment it appears to be running correctly.
I ran a few checks to see if the 1805 version of the 3CX repository had the same updates on some key files. It did!, It even had the dependency libmediainfo0v5.
So I not sure if all I had to do is leave source.list file as 3CX had overwritten and just manually change the repository path from 1803 to 1805 and just upgrade. Anybody else encountered this?

You should not instal 3cx manually and only use the supplied 3cx ISO, never change repositories. Also do not update via command line.

You have only one option now and that is take a full backup and redeploy to new machine using the latest 3cx iso, restoring the backup.

Perhaps I should have used the ISO, however, at the time, I was not happy with it and opted for a more manual installation. Is there a problem installating this on a pre-deployed Debian image? So far the only issue I had is this particular update event.

Updating via the CLI was the only option I had left, the automatic update failed. I would image if it had worked, the update process would have updated the repository links as it has done in the past.

In the meantime, it is appears to be working again and will build a new at a later stage.
