Hi there, hosted 3CX running v 18, trying to upgrade to 20 but it fails and in the log file I see

[33m====== [14:57:07] Preparation: 3CX installation takes 981M of space[39m
[33m====== [14:57:07] Preparation: Not enough disk space available. At least 5GB of free disk space is required for a smooth upgrade.[39m

"title": "Insufficient disk space",
"message": "There is not enough disk space available. Please make sure at least 5GB is free before upgrading."

I have an EC2 instance on Amazons AWS with multiple Cores and 128GB Storage and really not sure how to make this work - anyone have any experience of this type of error?

Thanks, again, Graham

The failure is really clear, not enough disk space...

Delete old recordings? Call logs?

I upgraded the Instance tye to have 128G - that should have done done it especially as no recording, minimal call logs and approx 50MB of Backups. We use the 3CX for testing purposes and for assistance when writing training material... It has 4 phone and 8 SIP trunks... Really not sure why the disk space error is popping up..... very confused.. Thx for replies so far :)

What does the Dashboard show for Disk Usage in the System Status section? This:

Hi Steve, that's the confusing thing... the Dashboard says just 2.3GB free though I upped the storage on the AWS instance to 128GB ... with my minimal config I fails to see how the PBX is using so much storage, I don't know if the 3CX has actually registered that there is now so much new space vailable. Thanks for your reply, appreciated :)

Check chats, voicemail, recordings, backups... Thats are stuff filling your space.

Does 3CX dashboard show the 128 as the disk size? We don’t use AWS, so just wondering if the partition size needs to be increased.

Ok, so in AWS for the EBS volume I have a setting of 16GiB ... this was set at 8GiB when my first upgrade attempts failed. So, at 16GiB, I have restarted all services and still the 3CX Dashboard tells me I have 2.3GB left....

Your VHD will be 16GB but the partition inside the OS will be the same.

just do a backup and reinstall.

Thanks all, looks like a re-install - appreciate all the advice :-)
