I currently have a perpetual 8 Sim Pro System and Maintenance expiring 9/11/2030.. I want to upgrade to 32 Enterprise.. But says I have over 400 days in maintenance .. So does this mean I can't upgrade

Hi @Heath,

I understand what you're saying. In this case I'd suggest contacting your regional channel manager to clear this up. However know that you won't be losing any of your maintenance by upgrading.
@VasilisV_3CX I spoke with my channel/sales manager on Friday about this and was told it wasn't possible to upgrade the SC and keep the existing maintenance investment/time. Can you clarify?

Hi @SweetAction,

I'm not sure what was said in the conversation with your channel manager, however I can clarify what I mentioned before:

If you purchased a 8SC PRO perpetual license and 10 years of maintenance, then decided that you'd like a 32SC PRO license, you'll be able to do this by switching to annual then upgrading from your partner / customer portal. This will incur a pro-rata cost due to the 8SC PRO license maintenance not costing the same as the 32SC PRO license maintenance. I hope that makes sense.

Feel free to let me know if you require further clarification.

(Throwing some sample numbers out here for illustration)

A couple year ago, if you were to buy a 16 SC Pro Perpetual it was like $1793 and maintenance was like $493/yr
So cost to buy 10 years was $6723 total.

If you wanted to update to 32 SC Pro Perpetual exactly 1 year later (full cost of $4062 for license and $1117/yr for maintenance) you could by paying the difference of $2269 + 9 years of maintenance difference $5616. You would then have a 32 SC Pro with the exact same maintenance time remaining.

Can this still be done in this case? Convert to annual, pay the difference in license and maintenance costs, keep the time remaining?

Hi @SweetAction,

Yes, converting to annual then upgrading will do exactly that - it will be the difference in license cost + difference in maintenance cost x number of years.

This should be reflected in the partner portal / customer portal when upgrading.
