Hi All,

I am currently using v18.0 (Build 20), self hosted on Azure VM.

I have attempted to upgrade to v20 twice, but unfortunately it failed twice as well.

Attached log file, need help and assistance what went wrong?

Thank you!

The issue is with the upgrade package that is failing:

[33m====== [11:22:37] Upgrade Result: *******************************************[39m
{
"result": "Upgrade",
"time": "23-03-2024 11:22:37",
"title": "Package Update Failed",
"message": "An error occurred while upgrading package: upgrade"
}
[31m[11:22] Upgrade: Package Update Failed - 0[39m

The safest way here is to create a full backup and reinstall with V20 ISO.

To help you understand the issue with upgrading to version 20, let's analyze the logs together. Please give us some time to review the log file you provided and we will try to determine why the update failed.

Please be aware that any direct updates to the OS might also affect the upgrade.
First of all ensure that you have a full backup of the PBX under the latest V18 build.

Of course the safest way it to reinstall using the latest V20 ISO and restore your backup.

Not only safest but often the fastest... 30-60 mins of work versus disappearing down a rabbit hole trying to troubleshoot an obscure issue, where the troubleshooting itself may take your install further away from being 'standard'. It's easier / faster just to blow it away and start again from backup.

These days, the only upgrade troubleshooting I would ever do would be "Is the VM in spec".

Totally agree, no matter the size of the system then installation is more than easy and fast than troubleshoot those cases as sometimes through the years we might have made a change that we forgot. So a fresh installation with the tested ISO will resolve those issues.

Hi Theo,

Got it, do you have guide how to reinstall v20 that I can refer? If yes, kindly share me url link for reference. Appreciate!

@win-pro Of course, check our guideline here or refer to the complete list of guidelines here.
