Hello all !

I have looked in the forum but could not find the answer.

We are about migrating 3CX from V18 to V20.
Due to the changes in V20 (groups, working hours etc etc) and our current setup I would like to have an "life insurance" prior doing so.

So would we do the step and migrate the application server to V20 I was thinking about doing an VM snapshot first.
In worst case scenario, the idea to get back to the V18 using this snapshot.

So given that we do successfully upgrade 3cx server to V20 here are my questions:

  1. How will the restore from snapshot of V18 VM be handled by 3CX Server and license check when the server restarts ?
Wil the server still be able to fully working even if in the customer portal the license showed is the V20 ?
Do we need to do anything special here to prepare the "maybe go back" knowing that this can be an question of minutes or days to take that decision.

  2. Will the mobile app still be able to register and be used ?
I am afraid that tunnel password or softphone authentication / credentials are changed during the update.

  3. Will the desk phones still be able to register and be used ?
I am afraid that authentication / credentials are changed during the update.

Many thanks in advance and apologies if this question was already answered :)

Once upgraded to v20 you cannot go back because the license gets upgraded.

And no, credentials are not changed. Just make sure your user is a System Owner with a unique email, and you'll be just fine.
