Here is my trouble, I might have started this the wrong way so any help will be highly appreciated. Here is the step I have taken and where I am stuck:

Existing environment (LightSail):
- We are self hosted
- Environment run on AWS LightSail with static public IPv4 and private IPv4
- Running on Debian OS 10
- 512 MB RAM, 1 vCPU, 20 GB SSD

In order to upgrade to Version 20, I needed to upgrade out LightSail environment to a 2CPU version, so here is what I did:
- Took a snapshot, created a new instance from snapshot with requirement 2cpu, reattach the IPv4, LightSail rea-attached with different IPv4 (public and private) addresses
- So I went on our 3cx web environment Network Settings and updated the IPv4 public address to the new IP from LightSail, that works fine.
- but the "Select Network Card Interface" >> "Choose which IP is the Default Internet facing IP Address. (Default gateway)" is a drop down so I couldn't change that to match the one on LightSail.

So when I try to upgrade to version 20, it keeps failing. What can I do?

You can take a backup of the current v18 system, Donald it to a safe location, deploy a new v20 machine to Light Sail via the 3cx portal, and restore the backup.

Ha I see. That would certainly work, thank you. Would we be able to keep our current FQDN? xyz.my3cx.us using this approach.? Also, we have an SBC as well as IP phones office, would this affect their functioning. I was hoping there was a way I to change the
address of the Default Internet facing IP Address (Default gateway) in Network Card Interface page on our 3cx portal.

The current FQDN can be kept. There is no need to release it; include the option in the backup for the license key and FQDN information. Also, once the new system is up and running with the backup restored, the FQDN will be updated to the new machine's IP, so your SBC will reconnect once the DNS has propagated.
