I'm attempting to import users via a CSV file, but am running into some issues. I've downloaded the v16 template and added my users to the CSV file. The documentation, https://www.3cx.com/docs/bulk-extension-import/, lists which fields are required, but it's not clear if you can simply delete any columns not being imported.

Also, is there a log file somewhere on the server to see what errors are encountered? I'm simply receiving a message stating "Commit failed on transaction ExtensionImport". This isn't very helpful in figuring out if there is a problem with my CSV file, so I was hoping there might be a log file on the server that I could inspect.

BTW, I'm running version 18.0.1880 from a linux ISO install.

Thanks,
Doug

I would start by creating an extension first with all the required settings and export this.

This way you can compare a working user with the csv file you have created.

Thanks, that is helpful, but do you know if all fields need to be included when importing or only the ones marked as required?

Hi @dpenny,

You can import an extension with simply Number (ext), FirstName, LastName and it'll import. However what @Saqqara said would be better. Export an extension, duplicate the line and edit what you need to, such as extension number, name etc.

Thanks, this is what I needed to know. I also found that my import file had a few duplicate extensions listed. It would be nice to have some better error reporting when import issues arise. Thanks for the help!

That definitely explain it.

Do let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
