Hello 3CX Support Team,

We are experiencing unexpected behavior in the 3CX Chat module.

All affected users are assigned the lowest role: “User” (no admin, no supervisor, no manager permissions).

However, users are still able to remove other participants from a group chat, as shown in the attached screenshot.
For example, user “Ismailia agent 500” removed “Ahmed Ramah 138” from the group, despite both being standard users.

Expected behavior:
Users with the User role should not be able to remove other participants from group chats.

Actual behavior:
Standard users can remove other users from group chats.

Additional notes:

  • This is a regular group chat (not a queue or admin-managed group)
  • No special permissions were intentionally granted
  • This causes internal misuse and moderation issues

Questions:

  1. Is this behavior intended by design?
  2. If so, is there a way to prevent standard users from removing others?
  3. Is there a setting, policy, or recommended best practice to restrict this?

Please advise on how to properly control group chat permissions.

Thank you for your support.
