Hello everyone,

I am in the process of hooking up my snom pa1 to our overhead paging system. All i get is garbled noises when paging. This is what I have tried thus far.

Snom PA1 is registered and automatically set to speakerphone on being called.

This is how the wires have been hooked up.

A. Snom (Speaker) > Bogen Tam B (phone system) > Tam B paging output > Bogen M300 Tel - Tip/Ring no audio heard
B. Snom (Speaker) > Tam B paging output > Bogen M300 Tel - Tip/Ring Tone with no audio when speaking
C. Snom(Speaker) > Bogen M300 Tel - Tip/Ring Tone is clear with garbled audio when speaking

Any guidance would be appreciated. Had it previously hooked up to a shoretel system and was working.

PA1 has an amp built in - just hook the wires directly. If it's not powerful enough, you'll need to work on the bogen m300 setup.

Snom -> Speakers.

I will need to use the Bogen M300 due to the number of speakers. Snom > M300 tel-T/R gives me the garbled feedback when talking. Not sure if there is another way to hookup the snom to the m300.

It's all analog, which means you can twist a bunch of speakers together and then run 1 line from that bundle to the PA1.

The amp might not be powerful enough for that many speakers though. I'll have to review manuals to advise further.

EDIT: Try disabling the PA1's built in AMP since you are using an external one.

ok, I believe we have it working now. I set the volume on on the snom to 1, and set the volume to 4 on the M300 for the channel. Clear announcements, so like your suggestion, the sound being amplified twice in a sense was the cause. I may try disabling the amp on the snom and see if we still have good results. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

snom pa1 > Bogen M300 works!
