V12.5 + Grandstream GXW-4224

Hello,

just trying to provision our GXW-4224 Gateways through 3CX.
Phones connected through the Gateway do work - and also show up as Phones within 3CX ... but the Gateway itself won't show up within 3CX Admin ... VOIP/PSTN Gateway doesn't show anything ... so i can't modify my Settings ...
Any ideas on this?

That is by design. FXS devices simply show up as registered phone (and/or FAX) extensions in 3CX console. They don't show up under PSTN gateways even though you configure them through there. Only FXO gateways show up there after configuration.

So if i want to remap the Ports <-> Extensions I always have to start from scratch as I can't modify existing Gateway?
Or is there some other Workflow required?

It is easier to do like you said, re-run the configuration in 3CX and then have the gateway re-read the provisioning file.

You can manually make the changes in 3CX and then make the corresponding changes in the GS device using its web gui but you will need to remove the provisioning string on the gateway or it will re-pull the old configuration file from 3CX on reboot.

I would stick with option 1 as much as possible unless you are very familiar with 3CX and the Gateways configuration.

alright - I guess I can't use 3CX Auto-Provisioning Feature then :-/

We got 3 24-Port GXW-4224 ... when I change one simple Setting within Provisioning Template I have to reassign 72 Ports <-> Extension within 3CX Gateway recreation ...

Really a pity the Settings aren't saved and one could simply modify existing Gateway ... :-/

You can always make the change in the device via the web interface and then edit the config file that was previously generated. I did a hotel a month ago and used 3 of the 48 port models and forgot to set the units to use neon rather than FSK (the default for MWI). There were a few other minor settings as well, but changing just a few settings in the file was far easier than re-creating 144 extensions. Just remember to modify the templates afterwards so that a new provision will have the settings the way you need.

btw) Whoever changed the topic - GXW-4224 is not an IP Phone but an FXS Gateway! ;-)
