Is it possible to make the chat window pop up on the users screen when a chat message comes in? It will flash in the taskbar, but people don't always see it right away. It would be great if you could set it to be in focus when a chat message comes in.

Yes the next update will have this behavior when you change your status to online and you have incoming chat messages whilst you were offline.
Also the behavior of the focus depends on how you treat the chat window (we copied google chat in this behavior). Try experimenting with _ (minimize) and X close buttons. You should see difference in behavior. Maybe something you need to show to your users.
