V15 Expired Maintenance need to replace key

I have a new medical client that has a perpetual license with expired maintenance on V15 that now wants to update to V16. They purchased a new annual license but since the maintenance is expired and the system is on V15, the system cannot be upgraded to V16 and their new license only supports V16.

I am trying to help them but am stuck without doing a total reinstall. Their old IT support is not in the picture any longer, so it would require me to go onsite to do the reinstall.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Wondering if the new license can be downgraded to V15 so I can do the upgrade to V16.

I think you are stuck with a reinstall, I ran into the same issue, forced to install new then restore from backup.

If the 3CX is running Windows you have to re-install anyway to upgrade them to v16. Do a backup without the license key/FQDN, release the license key from the old license and then re-install and provide it the FQDN and license key.

If they are running Linux, you can try to do a trade-in of their expired perpetual license for a free one year annual license.
