  • Phone Model: Samsung SM-G955F
  • Android Version: Android 9
  • App Version: V16.7.8.121 not with previous V16.6.2.89
  • 3CX PBX Version: v16.0 U8(B9) / Windows
  • Network Connection: WiFi & LTE IPv4
  • Client is on the same network as the PBX or not? No, PBX in cloud, Locally have 3cxbordercontroller.
3cx Android app receives Audio, but not returns with V16.7.8.121
With the previous V16.6.2.89 it functions fine.

We have this issue with earlier versions, when the PBX and/or Android App versions are different.
Feature?!: Android App may not update when PBX is not compatible

Could you do the following test?

Launch the 3CX Android App and go to "Menu >> Settings >> Advanced", check for an option that reads "Car/Bluetooth support (Telecom API)" and if it exists, disable it and try again. If it's already disabled, enable it instead and give it another shot.

Let me know if anything changes when you do this.

Hi Chris,
Thats fixed the issue.
Somehow this option was always enabled, or in a update this was enabled automatically.

How is it possible that these kind of options get enabled like this?

Maybe it would be helpfull for 3cx, when a user disables the option, the 3cx app asks why it is disabled, So other users get warned if the option is or gets enabled on their phone.
So in my case, everyone thats has an SM-G955F will get a warning.

How can i deteremine what phone supports 'telecom-API'?

Due to the fact that for android devices there exist a multitude of manufacturers and device models we are unable to test every single one.

That said, with the help of user feedback such as yours, we are slowly building a list of devices that do not support it so that future updates have it disabled by default or removed completely depending on the situation.

Just to confirm, is this a Samsung S8+ (SM-G955F)?
