Hello. I have 3cx version 16.0.8.9
Is this version and the v16 8a the same??.if its not how can update to v16 8a?

I mean i received an email that till 2nd Feburary you must update 3cx to version. 18 or you should have version 16 8a..i am wondering is my version 16 8a or not based on 16.0.8.9?

V16U8a is a patch for the new activation server. https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/change-of-fqdn-endpoint-due-with-update-2-beta.85783/

You need to update to V16U8a as soon till 2nd Feburary. After that, you have to update to V18 before hit November 2022, after that, your 3CX licence will not register to 3CX servers and you will lose all functions about the PRO/ENTREPRISE.

No, you don't need to do anything, just keep update your 3CX until the deadline :
V16U8a until 2nd Feburary, V18 before November 2022.

Don't know why you keep on V16, but you will be force to jump into it, so you can update it now and forget about all of this.

Yes i know i can update to v 18 but i will do it later.. all that mean the 16.0.8.9 the same as v16U8a?

Yes, if this a hotfix about the server activation that change.

Version 16.0.8.9 is not V16 U8a.
Version 16 Update 8a will be released some time between now and February 1st.

The best advice is to follow our Blog and Forum Product Release section to get informed about all latest releases.

Also, in your Management Console you can go to Settings --> Updates and enable "Automatically update 3CX" so that your 3CX will automatically update when a new release version is available.

I'm pretty sure that for this update it should be OK, but the general rule when you have CFDs is, when you want to upgrade the 3CX Server to the latest Version, you should:

1. Get the original CFD Project Files
2. Download the Latest CFD from our website
3. Re-build your project files using the latest version
4. (Won't necessarily happen) Fix any compilation errors that may appear
5. Update 3CX Server to the latest update
6. Re-upload/refresh the CFDs in the Management Console.
