Hi Guys,
we are in the middle of upgrading a V16 PBX to 18 and I wanted to check something regarding the SBC's and if this is possible
Currently we have a V16 Pi SBC that is going to be decommissioned, so I've built and connected a new Debian SBC that states its V18, am I able to migrate the phones over to the new v18 SBC before upgrading the PBX and will they work as expected or am I in a situation where I need to upgrade the PBX before the new V18 SBC will fully work with the phones? I want to try and minimise downtime for the users and their phones so would like to move them over to the new SBC first if possible then upgrade the PBX and remove the old SBC.
Also I've noticed that a lot of the phones listed are showing their firmware version is "Not Supported" but they are working fine with the current v16 pbx, they are Yelink SIP-TP29G using FW 46.83.0.55 am I likely to have any issues when I upgrade to V18 with these phones and this fw? I don't mind upgrading the phones before the PBX if I have to but there's a lot of them and If I can get the PBX out of the way I can schedule them in for a later date to get the correct firmware.
And finally does anyone know if upgrading the firmware on the phones wipes the current config or if it is retained, I can't seem to find a clear answer on this point ?
