I’m getting complaints from users that they are finding it difficult to transfer calls to users as when searching for who to transfer to, it now uses the contacts lookup.
Is there a way of limiting the options for call transfer to just internal users?

How are they transferring? softphone or deskphone?

Mostly using deskphones to speak with people and answer a call by picking up the handset, but controlling calls & transfers via webclient.

Hi @Rich.Hopkins,

Enable 'Sort extension by number' by clicking the three dots >> settings >> view >> sort extensions by number. Your internal extensions will now be displayed first in the Dialer when searching.

Hi @VasilisV_3CX
That changes the 'people' tab sort order in the web client, but makes no difference to contacts being displayed in the results when attempting to transfer calls in the webclient.

Hi @Rich.Hopkins,

This does in fact work - enabling it on for the extension will show internal extensions in the WebClient Dialer after answering a call on the IP Phone. Disabling the option will have the global contacts showing on top when searching by name.

I've followed your advice and steps in my webclient:

Still getting contacts when choosing transfer and searching for our internal extension 823:

Hi @Rich.Hopkins,

What exact version of the PBX are you on? Check from the Dashboard.

Actually in hindsight that wasn't a great suggestion.

When update 3 reaches production and isn't a BETA, this issue will be resolved.

Will have to wait until the business day is over before I can do this.
I take it the sort order of internal extensions will change in the webclient for users that have the 'sort extensions by number' ticked and will face some resistance as people do like to have them sorted by name.

Tried doing things the other way around... Using the webclient, I called the extension on my iPhone, answered and tried to transfer using the iPhone App and internal users are displayed first when using the iPhone App.
So it's the webclient that doesn't display internal users first.

Thanks for the update and input @Rich.Hopkins, let me know if you want to upgrade to the BETA prior to the production release. One option to is hang in there a little longer as the production release shouldn't be too far away now. The other is to update but understand that being a BETA, support doesn't have an SLA for BETA systems and it isn't intended for production systems.

Thanks @VasilisV_3CX
Think we'd better sit this one out as it's our production system.

As soon as the BETA becomes production, you'll see it mentioned in our blog and in our build history.

At the very least, you know a fix is on the way! I'll close this thread now - if you need anything at all, feel free to open a new thread.
