Solved v18 failed with server error on registration

I am currently in middle of the process of upgrading to v18 and unable to get past the registration part during the restore. It comes up with a server error listed below. i click OK on the error, it takes me back to the page, i click on Finish again and that's when it comes up with the Server error message.

Also, I took a backup, uninstall v16, install v18, restore.

Looks like i solved the issue by doing an uninstall of v18, rebooted the server, did an install of v18, and restore backup. Now, it's in the middle of restoring the backup. Never got that far before. Maybe it had to do with also rebooting the server.

After uninstalling 3cx, you should always rebooted the server before installing the next version of 3cx

Though according to the log the issue seem to have been access to a specific file, as @Saqqara said it is indeed best practice to reboot the server after uninstalling and re-installing a new version. In general, especially for a windows machine, I would recommend taking such opportunities to also perform any maintenance work such as applying OS updates, etc. In any case, glad to see you got this sorted!
