Solved v18 to v20 Upgrade

Hi everyone,

I have been looking online but can't find anything conclusive.

We've about ~9 v18 to v20 upgrades for ourselves and the customers we sell this to, I just wanted to get some information on expected downtime. I.E how long does the upgrade take?

We'll need to ensure this is done out of hours if there is a lengthy spell of downtime the customer can't have, so I wanted some knowledge to be able to pass on when I am quizzed on this.

If everything is prepared for v20 than it would take from 5min up to some hours. Depends on your hardware.

They're all hosted. Does this change anything?

Than it should be ready after 5-10 minutes.. I did it for one customer yesterday.

If it's hosted with 3CX you should be fine, however, never reboot the machine while it is updated, as it will be corrupted and you will lose the system. So take a backup in advance and save it, just incase.

Yes, do not do that while it's upgrading the OS and then the Phonesystem.
