Have just updated our PBX to V18 and am playing with the new Windows app, it's far nicer than the legacy one and generally is a big upgrade. One thing that's confused me is the fact that "Contacts", "Voicemail", "Recordings" and "Settings" are all in an overflow menu on the left rather than just their own menu items. If somebody leaves me a voicemail I can't really tell as the notification badge is hidden behind the menu. The 3 dots turn blue, but that's far from obvious at a glance. Even if I make the window as short as it will go there's still easily enough room for the 4 extra menu items there, so I've no idea why you would want to hide it behind an extra mouse click anyway.

Checking the settings in the app I don't see any way to change this behaviour. Am I mad or is this just a bit nuts?

I just updated, last night, and am also seeing that. I would like to see all the widgets/icons displayed on the left margin. I have the screen real estate. I definitely use Voicemail more than I do Meet or Chat. Those could easily be behind the dots, as far as I am concerned... if there is a reason why there need to be dots.

It took me a couple of minutes to realize that Panel does what Switchboard used to. Semantics...

Still, it is a new interface with a nice look. I look forward to a little 'polishing up'.

It's evident they are taking inspiration from MS Teams, but at least in Teams you can drag/pin any item from the overflow menu to the main bar and vice versa. It seems like such a minor thing but I know of a few customers that'll be seeing red if the voicemail is hidden away like that.

For me it also makes no sense to hide the options. There is enough space to display all options.
A guess would be that the options were hidden because the description text under the icons is perhaps too long? But then you could also just make the menu bar a bit wider.

We have had several independent customer complaints already about the voicemail tab having its icon hidden away - 3 small dots turning blue is not as effective/noticeable.
