Last night I did a fresh install of v20 and uploaded our v18 backup. Now, after seeing all these issues and bugs I learned v20 is not released yet and 1494 is still in early development state. That's really not good because it doesn't show that way on the v18 console, it looks like a fully released version. Also when downloading the new ISO from the customer portal I saw no hint that it's not production ready.
We are using 3X Pro On-Premise at five of our companies since many years and luckily I only upgraded one of these five so far so I'll be going back to v18 tonight with the one already upgraded.
Anyway, these are the bugs/issues:
- Our Patton Gateway for fax (yes, we are located in Germany, we still use fax
) shows in trunks a red, fax no longer works, editing of the gateway is not possible
- I can no longer edit our service provider trunk. When I click on edit it simply switches to the teams view (we use "Deutsche Telefon" as trunk that used to be officially supported by 3CX, now it's not anymore due to really strange "political" decisions)
- We can no longer edit user/group permissions, only a few - honestly pointless - predefined roles are available that can't be configured
- There is no "Parameters" section anymore where we can activate UaCSTA / CTI for our Snom Multi-Cell DECT phones
- Inbound rules are gone
That's only from what I noticed this morning and that is affecting us.
I understand some of that is actually supposed to go to the production version like this.
In all these years we learned that you have to be rather "open minded" (to use a positive sounding term) with 3CX and significant changes between versions that force users to change the way they work but I do not recall such a significant feature reduction. This time both admins and users are negatively affected.
Is there a roadmap somewhere where I can see what's planned for the future?
What of those features will make it back to v20?
Btw, this is what it shows on one of our V18 installations:
No word that this isstill in development.
