Since V20 Caller ID field in the user settings accepts a minimum of 3 symbols!
I need it just like before, only single digits like 9 for the fax. Is there an option to change or avoid this limitation?

Hi your question is no clear, 9 as caller id for fax?

I assume you refer to dial 9 and call an user extension, in that is the SIP ID.

You mean this, right?

I have multiple outgoing DIDs with different numbers. In this case, I am using Caller ID to be added to the base number of the DID by the outbound rule. For the fax, it will be +xxxxxxxxx9 for the DID1 and +yyyyyyyyy9 for the DID2.

Yes I meant this mask

Ok, so you just add the correct headnumber if the DID has one digit.

Workaround could be, enter DID (with headnumber) in every extension and rewrite it in the trunk of the other location

Otherwise the limitation will brick you

well that +9 is not a caller id...

However you may try the following, enter the extension number as caller id, then in your sip trunk --- options ---- Reformat Outgoing Caller ID you can set a pattern like

Source: (...) or (100)
Replace: your DID\1

See more info here

Another alternative is using the outbound rules and set the caller id from there.

Yes, I have done it like this till V18 and it was fine. Now with V20 mask is not allow less than 3 symbols but I have only two XX numbers for the extension and sometimes even one in the fax case. Anyway, I made now next work around 009 and stripping 00 by the outgoing rule for the FAX and 099 striping 0 for the rest :)
