This is a small sample of a screenshot showing voicemail accounts for various executive and manager functions in one office. These accounts are for clients to call external DID for projects and business functions and go to specific managers or execs emails. We've done this for 5+ years. Now we can no longer make changes to those accounts without adding unique emails to make the system happy. We have execs with dedicated conference phones (different ext) in adjacent rooms to facilitate meetings. Now all of those ext show with a
and cannot be amended.
Why? What purpose does this restriction serve?
We use the same email on multiple email accounts for spare, reserved, forwards, voicemails, fax and system ext. Our Help Desk email is used for all spare lines so they A) Find them quickly and B) can receive the Welcome emails to set new people up. I use my email on fifty or so ext to alert people not to make changes to specific business critical lines. So now I have to add 50 unique aliases to my email?
This unnecessary restriction needs to be removed please.
