v20 FREE upgrade to PRO - FQDN Question

We have a client who wishes to move from the Free 3CX hosted to a professional license hosted by us.

At the moment they have a 3cx.cloud FQDN.

What will happen to the FQDN when they upgrade their license? We want to create a back up and move them over to our servers.

Will this be possible or will it have to be a fresh installation with a new FQDN?

it seems to me SMB Free or PRO are not providing any backup, and of course if you install a fresh full PBX even hosted by 3CX the FQDN will change to a new one.
SMB keys can't be upgraded to full PBX keys, you only upgrade step is from SMB free to SMB20 PRO
So yes , full fresh install from scratch

You will need to create a new installation with a new dedicated license and a new FQDN.
The 3CX Free edition is different than the Dedicated ( Pro or Enterprise ). Also you cannot take backup or upgrade the 3CX Free to a dedicated Pro or Enterprise.

I have just been told that it is an old v18 4SC Free edition that has been upgraded to v20, so therefore not hosted with 3CX.
Will that make any difference?

If it is a dedicated installation then you will be able to take a backup.
Then reinstall the key and restore from the backup you have.
