In v18 there was the option "Hide this extension from 3CX company phonebook and 3CX Apps"

This allowed multi-tenant without them being aware of each while also allowing those in a group together to see each other's calls, presence and whatever if we chose to.

This feature was especially useful for support in troubleshooting routing and device issues because we could see the call going through to specific users.

When referring to this "https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/rights-recordings/" for v20, though helpful and others outside of the group cannot see presence, calls and so on, they still see the contact card, just grayed out and unavailable. The only was to hide the contact card from everyone is to choose the option "Hide User" but when choosing this option, it hides it for everyone including the group.

Am I missing something here or could hiding contacts outside a group be an option again or is this just the way it is now?

We have worked though the dramatic changes from v18 to v20 and adapted, but this is huge for our business and support.

Everyone keeps directing me to multi-tenant guide but this is not available when deploying V20 through the portal. The 3CX guide alludes to its availability, but this option is not available when deploying though the portal. The absence of the screenshots in the 3CX user guide showing deploying through the portal makes me assume that this is no really available. Is this a 3CX hosted only option?

The user guide states:
  1. Select a key to deploy the Multi-Tenant instance. All new PRO/ENT keys 16SC and above will be listed.
Note: Individual license keys for every company on the Multi-Tenant Host are not required.
  2. Select which deployment type and follow the instructions to complete the wizard.
This is simply not accurate.

I am deploying an Enterprise 32SC, which should qualify, but do not get the specific multi-tenant installation option.

Is anyone able to actually do this?

I just copied and pasted from 3CX support. Not my spelling.

Here is what I found:

Regarding your question, with the multinetant it can only be deployed via the downlaods sectrion of the partner account whith an un activated key. One that has not been used to activate on any system already.

So as I assumed, very important details are missing from the guide. The guide describes portal deployment, when it does not actually exist.

Oh dear, that writer was quick to write...

3CX offered free training on setting up a multi-tenant system. One should have seen this.
