I've had a client self update to V20 and have run into an issue the client has raised

They have a few system admins but have found they cant see each other in the admin portal under users

The system Owner can see everyone but system admins can only see from below them not any one on there level and above

Now I under stand not seeing system owner but again they should see them with limited access to change thing but allow a Admin to update basic info like call Forwards, BLF Keys and so on (applys to System Admins Updating System Admins)

Is this an issue on the 3CX V20 Platform or is it a rights thing we need to apply to allow System Admins access to see other System Admins

Hi there.

The system owner should see those users.
Again I know that as in my original post

But WHY CANT SYSTEM ADMINS SEE SYSTEM ADMINS

Better Yet why cant admins in general see everyone but have limited to no authority to modify anyone at the same or above level??

As at the end of day you would have to give everyone system owner rights to see admins and not everyone needs this level of access and you dont want everyone to have this access.

System admin will not see the users with the roles : Owners and System owner, and System admins too and this is the system design. So System admins can administer their own group and other users in their group (but not the aforementioned users roles as they have privilege too).

I completely understand Anthony. The whole role system is frankly too static and inflexible.
For example, I have to give system owner rights for phone systems to see or generate reports. Why shouldn't a system administrator be allowed to do that?
However, the system administrator is allowed to listen in on calls, which is absolutely unnecessary and there are many more examples.
This is a missed opportunity with the new system, which would have an advantage due to the additional roles, but the static and sometimes untraceable rights also create security risks, as roles may have to be assigned that have unnecessary or unwanted rights.
Although V18 had fewer roles, it was much more flexible and easier to manage by deselecting or adding rights.

At the current stage of V20, this is something given, and we don't have roles that can be customizable in a more flexible way, however, thank you guys for the feedback provided.

Thank you very much Oleg. I still hope for some changes and improvements in V20.

Andreas, you are welcome. V20 brought many new options and changes, as well as more new features to come. Stay tuned for the updated.
Have a great day

Same here!
A department can have more than one "System Administrator"! And of course, lets say the Admin no 1 must do some changes on admin no 2.
I can not understand why the Admin are hided for each admin

System admin shouldn't be able to make changes to another system admin. If they do, It creates conflict, to say the least. That is why there is a System owner in place who can make these changes.
Giving system admin the power to make changes to another system admin is kind of same as giving a user the power to modify other users. Its a very basic concept!

Ok, maybe i does not understand the 3cx roles
Which role is responsible for Daily pbx Changes? Change outbount DID, Add or change a BLF key to a Deskphone, makes a mass change on Users?
From my point of view, its de System admnistrator.

Just check the roles: https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/access-roles/

There you will find which role is for the stuff you need

thank you very much @bitn2
