V20 - Update 3 BETA - Boosts Admin & System Performance

Just a thought, if things will be moving around in the new admin GUI, can there be a link left in the old place, for a version or two? "to manage the Operator Extension setting [click here]" That would help steer everyone to the new place and reduce frustration.

Not a bad idea, or at least put it in the Release Notes. I looked at the Voicemail page twice and was looking for the old Operator Extension heading in bold...

HI, I'm just wondering when or if the option to recored a greeting from a desk phone is going to be added back into the menu options for things like digital receptionists?

Customers should not have to do a work around for this and not all customers have a pc with a headset or microphone.

Please let me know as when this is added I can start moving customers that use desk phones over to V20

Thanks

in the blog post it has "Ability to choose between Away or Custom 2 statuses for users hitting the DND button on the phone."

Where do i find this setting? i have looked but no luck finding it.

Could you also expand on what this ones is and where to find it "Ability to select which status profiles the automatic scheduler will be set to according to opening hours, break times and closed."

Thank you :-)

System > Options > Scheduler

and

Phones > Options

It's quite an important feature we need to highlight more because you can now define much more clearly what should happen after office hours - and you can assign a different status from DND.

So you can have DND do one thing during office hours but out of office hours have the scheduler set it to a status that does something different.

Hi Llias,

Thanks for the reply,

Yes that correct, in V18 you could do both.

Could you advise how you dial the SP from a DECT handset?

Regards,

Dave.

Hi Team
Speak to the manufacturer of the DECT handset. It should have the ability to switch to letters. If not, you will need to make a Call Processing script to trigger unparking using only whats available on the handset.

@nikolascx is QCB getting any love in v20? Need to stop repeat callers / restricting QCB to 1 per defined call back number.

hey @Alphabetic
Make a short user story of what you need - max 3 lines. QCB is queue call back?
At the moment, External Caller A calls your trunk and Queue is busy and decides to leave a callback. PBX then calls caller A
What do you need to have different?

Caller A calls in and prompts for call back to 1234.
Caller A calls back 40 minutes later and prompts for a call back to 1234.
Restrict QCB scheduled to 1234 to 1 to prevent multiple QCB to the same number as 1st QCB has not been serviced yet.
@nikolascx

Even a "you have already requested a QCB, to cancel the previous request press 1"

Absolutely - interesting. nice one. So logic in short should be like this:
If callback is not yet serviced, and a new callback request comes with a matching number, Ignore the recent one and keep the original callback,

Currently it calls twice. I perfectly understand. We can save the second unnecessary call from happening.
nice one - Noted.

Yes pretty much but caller must be aware that previous QCB position will be dropped. hopefully their behaviour will be that they stop calling in more then once and they actually wait for their first call to be serviced.
Whilst on the same topic of QCB - I've got an open support ticket 1878887 where the prepend digits for QCB is applied twice which results in the QCB to fail. Im told its with R&D but havent heard anything since.. it's causing statistics to be incorrect because the issue is the PBX and not us returning the call. Issue still happens if I create outbound rule for the double prefix.

Me again :D

Just another thing for consideration...

We have a case of QCB abuse in that someone anonymous is requesting a call back to a number that isnt them. Receiver isnt very happy. The ability to exclude numbers from being able to receive QCB would be beneficial too to prevent abuse whilst still having the ability to call out to said number.

Update: In the mean time i've created outbound rule to block <prefixofQCB><number>

Happy to see E911 additions in this update. It would be great to see the E911 Geolocation "Location" and "Additional information" fields under the user added to the Emergency Numbers Notifications as variables for email notification.

Hello Nikolas

There has never been the ability to dial [SP] using DTMF, if you use the letters on the keypad (which most DECT phones have) the phone sends the digits [7] [7], which is why on quite a few systems we set up dummy extensions 770, 771, 772 etc and forwarded all calls to SP0, SP1, SP2 etc, this was a good workaround until it has been broken on V20. We have implemented this on quite a few of our systems and really do need it repaired.

I have looked at using the CFD as suggested earlier in this thread, and while it is a workaround it is not very ideal.

I am also struggling to find out how to dial SP01 from the 3CX Android app, what is the recommended way to do this, I can't get the alphanumeric keypad to show, the only way I found to do this was to go to search a contact, type in SP01 then copy and paste it into the dial pad.

Maybe a customisable Dial Code to access System Park similarly to the Parking Orbit *0 and *1 function would be a better solution?

Otherwise - lots of exciting things coming out with V20 :)

When recording prompts for other systems I leave myself a voicemail, save the vm file from the email and then upload it to the customer 3CX server. While not idea, they can do this to get the recordings made or changed when needed.

*4[ext] puts them right into voicemail. Press 1 to skip the announcement. Record at the tone and hangup when done.

yes i know how to do the work around, but try teaching this to un-tech savy end users that are used to doing it directly from the digital receptionis menu in version 18. The feature should be added back to all the required menus instead of just a record from microphone option.
I have already had complaints about it from some of the customers that i have on V20 that use desk phones.

I did put in my post "Customers should not have to do a work around for this and not all customers have a pc with a headset or microphone." indicating i know the work around.

Hi Team
Maybe you can save the dialplan asn an entry in the dect and users can press to unpark - I would also think of this too. Like a contact number that unparks saved as "SP"
