The upgrade will not run, I am getting the same message when I hover "system owner define in the system". I have a system owner with a unique email address defined.

Suggestions besides re-install / restore?

If you get this message this means that there is no System Owner configured. Please check one more time and also ensure that all extensions are using unique email addresses.

I have a system owner assigned.. but I cannot have unique email addresses for the users.. some are 1 person/multiple extension users with one email account.. is this going to be an issue? the upgrade is still grayed out.

Use aliases on the mailbox on the other extensions

does EVERY extention need an email address? i..e. can any be empty?

I believe on v20 the web client is disabled for the user, without an email address. And in the user settings it's a required field in terms of saving changes.

365 has Plus Addressing which makes it easy to create unique email addresses on the fly.

I ended up deleted the extensions. modifying the system admin email address.

then re-created the extensions, then it would work.

Now I have a different issue, I can not modify ANY extension. Existing or newly created.
If i make a change to the extension, (E.g add a BLF in an extension), I get an invalid value error. And the red error refers to the "Main Department Membership". It doesn't make a difference what I make the group, I can not save an extension change. I tried creating new groups and adding the user to that and same issue.
