We are still currently on v18 and received the email that we must upgrade by May 31st, and have several questions before attempting that. For some background info related to some of these questions, please see another question I posted several months ago here: https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...ased-on-cid-multiple-dids.124482/#post-588290

One of the more advanced features we rely on is the caller id exception list for outside of business hours. I see that this feature was just added in update 1 (beta). If I upgrade, will all of my exceptions be transferred correctly or will I have to re-enter all of them (hundreds of exceptions for 4 different extensions)? Somewhat related to this question is the routing of SMS messages. In order to accomplish what we needed with v18, we had to use a "dummy ivr" and a "dummy extension" in order to allow our users to get SMS, voicemail, and call notifications after hours. We had the option to route incoming SMS directly to an extension, from an IVR. Reading through some of the forum posts, it seems this process has changed slightly. Will my current setup (described in the link above) still function correctly, or will that have to be re-configured? The documentation for IVR's in v20 is severely lacking, unless I am missing something (https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/office-hours/)

The in-ability to change user rights and permissions is extremely disappointing. For example, here it talks about employees coming in early to work and overriding the office hours, and then explicitly says that this function is only available for receptionists or higher. So now a user can't even override the office hours if they come in early? In the user rights table I also noticed that users can't transfer calls. We do that quite often. So now I will have to grant everyone receptionist rights and take the chance that they don't screw up the IVR's. Are we going to be able to change these permissions individually in the future?

Also, the fact that the new windows app doesn't have messaging capability is a huge oversight in my opinion. We use the messaging on our computers all the time, sometimes more than actual voice calls. I guess we will keep using the chrome app for now. Is this expected to change anytime soon?

I tried reading through the forum to find answers to these questions, but mostly all I could find was similar concerns with little direction or vague answers. I am hoping enough time has passed that some clearer answers are available. Thanks in advance.

The Store app was intended to be a phone not a full client. I don’t have a link handy but 3CX has posted they’re working on adding chat and panel/receptionist view.

It sounds like 3CX will not change the new user roles system. They did allow Users to park though, compared to early versions.
