I upgraded a v 18 system to v20 the url access changed from ip to FQDN but you have to access it via port 5001. https://3cx.fl.3cx.us:5001.
I installed V20 rel 3 new install on a server (no upgrade). 5001 doesn't work on this server. it uses 443. htttps://3cx.fl.3cx.us/
is this how it was designed? why is it like this or am i doing something wrong?

Choosing between port 5001 and 443 is primarily a matter of preference. Historically, 3CX defaulted to port 5001, so upgrades retain that configuration. However, new installations now default to the standard HTTPS port 443. Both ports function equally well, but if your users are accustomed to using port 5001, there's no need to force a change. The switch to port 443 is simply a shift in the default setting, not an indication of any error on your part.

Due to all the conflicts on 443, I prefer the PBX on 5001. I went through the process to use the install wizard on the 3cx website to create a configuration file for the fresh install. It does not provide an option for custom port. I'm seeking to change this port on the PBX after install. Not sure if that is possible anymore considering that I don't see those options exposed anymore.

You just have to edit the xml file and replace 443 with 5001 then use that for new install.
