v20 user and receptionist roles

Is it really true that, in v20, in order for a user to be able to transfer a call, they must be given the Receptionist role? What's the rationale behind this?

Transfer? No. Users can do it.

Pickup/divert is a receptionist option.

Hmm - at https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/access-roles/ it says the Call Divert, Transfer and Pickup are not available to the User role - only Receptionist and higher.

This is transfer the call from another extension to yours (pickup a call), not transfer a call to someone else.

again, hmmm It quite clearly says Call divert, transfer and pickup. I can understand divert and maybe even pickup not being available to a regular User - but Transfer (i.e. transfer from my extension to another), that's functionality that pretty much every user needs.
I guess I'll have to test it!

Also again, transfer ist avaiable for every user. Transfer and pickup not. This is not the same.

I was assuming Transfer & Pickup were two separate functions. What you telling me is that Transfer & Pickup is a single function. In what way is this different from simply Pickup?

You are PICKUP a call and TRANSFER it to your extension.

OK. I don't want to be pedantic but, to me, that is just Pickup. I'm glad to hear that Transfer is available to any User. Thanks.
