Solved Version 18 removal of the Q toggle

We have recently upgraded to version 18 and found it to be a nice improvement over version 16. Especially the new web/Windows shell for it. The one backward step we have found is the removal of the Q button which both allowed you to toggle your queue status but more importantly allow you to see at a glance if you were logged into a queue. I know you can click your avatar and then see or change your queue status there, but it's one extra step users don't like and I agree. Also not being able to change your queue status or availability status from the dialer is also a backward step.

Does anyone else feel this is a backward move?

I understand your point. Nothing has been removed in terms of functionality, but some features have been moved to different sections of the Web Client. For example, you can still explicitly log your extension out of individual queues from the Panel and still globally log out from the Avatar section as you correctly mentioned.

Glad to hear you've found the improvement a good step since v16. You can use the Desktop App dialer and set up BLFs for extension status if you'd like.

Thanks for the reply and yes you've not removed anything, it's just more steps to do the same thing. It's a shame, perhaps this change will be rolled back like where People was changed to Team and then back to People? Some things shouldn't be changed.

Thanks for the BLF suggestion but BLF's aren't great for Status and Queue logins as they offer no feedback when pressed so the user can't be sure what has or hasn't happened.

All this feedback is simply about making sure the UI/UX is slick and means the user gets the most done with the least input required.

Yes, I had noticed that, but finding yourself among other users isn't exactly something you can do at a glance. Also, you can't toggle that Q

I do like the positive nature of this forum how people try to find solutions. However, I do think sometimes things just need to be acknowledged that a change was made that wasn't necessarily for the best. Anyway I'll stop replying to people who suggest workarounds as I think I've probably labored my point enough

I understand your point, and you're right - we endeavour to keep our communications solutions based and positive. At this time there is nothing to do but wait for a partner to post the feature request in the Ideas Forum. You have been heard however, and this thread may ring true for others so perhaps this is the push a Gold partner needed to post the feature request in Ideas.
