3CX Version, Professional Perpetual 18.0 (Build 1880)
Server OS, Debian 10
Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? Hosted in Virtual Server on 1&1, Raspberry Pi SBC
IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware version, e.g. Fanvil X6 fw 2.4.12
Provisioning Method: SBC
Trunk Provider or VoIP Gateway Make/Model, Sip trunks by Gamma
Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO

I've recently updated 3CX and our Fanvil X6 phones to the latest versions (as above) and since then callers have reported that they can sometimes hardly hear our users, this happens both internally and on external calls. It's as if the volume has been been turned down, although we can hear the person calling in externally OK.

I suspect that some settings have been changed as part of the FW upgrade of the Fanvil phones?

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix?

Hi Justin,

You can talk to a caller using webclient, desktop app or mobile app and compare.

If the same caller hears you at the same volume with either the app or the phone, then it probably won't be the firmware update.

So do a quick test if you want, by answering on the X6, then transferring the same person to another extension using the 3CX client. You can do a couple of back and forth transfers to compare

Just realised that I should report back on this.

The issue seems to have cleared itself after updating and rebooting of the SBC.

Hi Justin,

This might have just been a coincidence. It should not really be related because the SBC passes the audio traffic on to the PBX "untouched". This means that whatever volume was recorded inside the audio packets, will not change while it's being sent to your PBX.

Glad to hear things are better now, but I think you should still keep an eye on it for a little while and if needed try te tests we mentioned above.
