Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue with the 3CX app for Android. Even though I have granted all permissions and enabled notifications and vibration for all categories (e.g., incoming calls, missed calls, etc.), my mobile phone still does not vibrate for internal calls.

It only vibrates for external incoming calls.

My specs:
  • Device: Samsung Galaxy S23
  • Android: 16
  • OS UI: 8
  • App version: 20.5.0

Hi,

PBX version and installation type? Was this working before some recent change? Is it an issue for anyone else on that PBX if you know?

Our system is self-hosted in our datacenter, and the ports required by 3CX are correctly NATed, the version is 20.0 Update 7 (Build 1080 Release)
I recently noticed this issue, but I’m not sure if it was present before.

I tested using the same permissions and the same version on two devices:
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra: the issue persists
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra: it works correctly
The same issue has my customer and they same same device with same version of PBX and APP.

Please provide us the verbose logs from the device experiencing this issue.
You can send it privately via PM by uploading to your preferred cloud storage provider of choice and sharing us the Shareable link.

Open the 3CX app
Tap on the hamburger menu (top left corner)
Settings > Advanced > Scroll all the way down and enable verbose logs

Reproduce the issue. Preferably recieve 2 calls, one internal and one external

Then send us the logs
Tap on the hamburger menu (top left corner)
Settings > Advanced > Scroll all the way down and tap on send log report

We have the same issue. I will send the report.

@imarco8 yes please send us a report as per above

Hi
We have confirmed with Google that it is intended behaviour from their end when we attempt to update the notification. (We recieve a call from a number and we need to resolve it to a contact name). If Successful, we update it to the name and this is where the issue with stoppage of vibration happens.

We are researching as to how to make our own implementation of vibration rather that using the native Android vibration code which gives us more control and should stop this issue from happening.

We will keep you posted
