It seems video preview (H.264 payload based on the SIP Early Media protocol) is still causing a lot of issues
and makes it complicated to use 3CX combined with Intercoms such as 2N IP devices or any other device.
Would be nice if the 3CX Android Softphone App would be able to support either one way or two way
video /audio preview. (initiating and/or receiving).
Typical Intercom Silent Video Preview (H.264) Scenario, requiring UX with up to five buttons you can press in the app:
a) Intercom (or 3CX softphone) initiates a SIP call with early media support such as 2N software.
(would be nice to have special test option to initiate a call with or without an early media request
from within the 3CX app for testing purposes) the 3CX app would then mimic any intercom.
b) 3CX Android app, receives incoming call from intercom
c) 3CX Android app user , presses "Preview Video Only button" without accepting the call, a session is established
with incoming video and audio oneway only. (no outbound video, no outbound audio, nothing!)
d) 3CX Android app user ,after checking the video image, accepts an incoming one-way Video and two-way audio call by pressing "Green phone button"
e) Default: two way audio session is established and video one way ( video from Intercom device to 3CX softphone)
f) Session established: there is an option to turn on Video on the softphone; User presses "Activate My Camera button", now there is two way video.
g) Press the "Open Door Button" : configurable DTMF sequence transmitted.
h) future idea: perform a configurable simple fixed (string based) REST API call to an integration endpoint (string) ; Example send
date/time to your own API for door open audit logging. "Action XYZ button"
If these "button" features would be available it may save a lot of time and effort debugging intercom scenario's as you could simply
start testing with two smartphones and thus make sure the server is properly configured
Is there anything on the 3CX APP roadmap that would enable users to test the above standard scenario at some point in time?
