VM using open relay?

I manage the 3cx system by a larger firm now since we were acquired a year ago. The system admin manager inidicates we should be able to use an open relay to email voice mail using an IP address tatehrt than a SMPT server / account. At the risk of emabarrasing myself, I am asking for input LOL

On the SMTP server, you allow certain IP's to connect without using a username and password - the connection is authenicated against the sender IP address.

Google your email server and open relay for info

Within 3CX, select custom SMTP and enter the required info

You need Pro or Ent license to be able to use a custom smtp server (Office 365, Google, etc)
