Does anyone have any suggestions on a voice response IVR system that will integrate with 3CX? We need to replace a system that currently you can call into and it prompts to say the person you want to connect to, and it transfers to that extension.

This is standard with 3cx, using ivr - function is ‘called by name’

How is standard? To clarify, I want to have a recording that says for accounting, press or say 1, for HR press or say 2... etc.

I believe they are looking for a voice recognition IVR, not just DTMF driven.

Oh... Good luck :)

Voice recognition is now possible using the Call Flow Designer (CFD). However, building a CFD application for each IVR would probably be ... burdensome ... to build and modify (when needed). The CFD will submit the request (audio) to Google and Google will respond with it's best guess of what the caller wanted (true of any voice recognition system).

I've pondered whether we could make a generic CFD that takes configuration information and "builds" the needed IVR, but it sounds like a fair amount of work with no real sense of demand for such a tool. Building an alternative company directory, however, seems like a logical first effort in that direction.

Things will be a lot easier once 3CX incorporates Artificial Intelligence in version 78.2 . :)

There is the exchange integration under voice mail settings tile for 3cx pro/ent, that provides the functionality you seek. This would probably only be practical if you already have exchange in your environment or require exchange and are moving toward it.

We used it in the past its not the difficult to setup but it is only supported on-prem and not with office365. Once this installation decided to go with office365 we discontinued use of this feature.

I suppose if build an AD, Exchange Server and 3cx in azure or some other cloud hosted environment where they are on on the same lan this could work but according to document below I suspect it would not be supported by 3cx so I would check if this something you would like to explore.
