Morning team,

Please can someone help with the below query?

Richard wants voicemails to go to different mailboxes depending on where the clients call. That's fine, but he wants it to go to all users hand desks in that call queue. but to one email address. You can send voicemails to a ring group's voicemail, but I don't know if that goes to each user's email or not. We need to confirm if there's a way to send voicemails to multiple handsets.

You can not send voicemail notifications to multiple ip phones but RIng group and queue voicemail emails are sent to all agents that are members of the Ring group or queue where the voicemail are left.

@RESOLVE-WR Another option we've used is to set up a separate extension "RG Voicemail" and have the email notification for it go to a shared mailbox or distribution list.

Users can log in to other ext VMs by dialing the VM number then pressing #

How can you set the greeting for the queue voicemail?

There is no option to achieve this. I'm afraid the queue, ring group Vmail greetings cannot be changed.

I concur with the approach where you designate a dummy extension as the repository for the group voicemail. I personally would consider not using the built-in queues / ring group voicemail feature because you cannot record a personalize greeting.

With the dummy extension approach, you must assign to the dummy extension a distribution group email address rather than individual email accounts, but the result is the same. This approach is very simple to do, but it has one limitation. It will not turn on the MWI on all the group members' phones. The only notifications will be via email, but you can include a recording of the voicemail as an attachment. I think that's a reasonable compromise.

There are more elegant solutions possible but that requires 3rd-party tools like our "3CX Voicemail Manager". With our tool we can send both email notifications and turn on the MWI for each group member's phone, and if anyone listens to the voicemail on their phone it flags the voicemail has heard so you do not have multiple people chasing the same voicemail. Our solution does not require the use of email distribution groups.
