Solved Voicemail notification %%CALLERNAME%% without ring group name appended

Given a caller name of "John Doe" going through a ring group called "Sales" that ends up in voicemail, the variable %%CALLERNAME%% in a voicemail notification will have "John Doe:Sales" as its value.

Is there any way to disable this "append the ring group name to the caller name" function and get the caller name only? Or maybe an undocumented variable unaffected by this?

You can disable the option to "Add Group, Queue or DID/DDI Names to Caller ID" from under the management console > Advanced > Contacts > Options section. This then will send the voicemail to email without the appended names, but be aware that this will also remove them from the incoming call notification altogether.
