Just wondering what the benefits/consequences are to changing the registration interval. We have had a couple times in the past few months been unable to contact the Broadvox registration server and it caused the phones to be down for the length of the registration interval. Is there any harm in lowering this interval to a minute or less so that if it happens again there will be less downtime? I think it was set to 10 minutes by default.

A SIP server will suggest how often it want you to register. In most cases you are able to force registrations at a shorter interval. But, there should be no need unless you are changing public IP's every half hour.

If you are having problems with registration, then lowering the time probably won't solve your problem. You need to find out what other issue may be the cause of the issue. If a registration fails (in most cases), more frequent attempts will be made until successful, of course this isn't going to work if there is a network or server problem.
