Hi,

I have a question regarding 3CX SIP trunks and mobile phones with a non-3CX SIP stack.

Q: Is it possible to use 3CX VoIP push notifications with a non-3CX SIP client? Or are these only available for 3CX clients on iOS/Android?

Thanks in Advance!

For iOS, the short answer is: no.

And a short description:
In iOS, the push is bound to device+application, based on a push certificate generated by Apple for that particular application at application's developer request. That certificate authenticates the push sender (in our case, the 3CX PBX) to the Apple push server. Therefore, when your iOS device receive a push sent by 3CX PBX, the iOS directs it to the 3CX client application and not to, let's say, Notes application.

Hi,

would it be possible to write a dedicated 3CX plugin that takes care of the push notification itself?
For example, can I write a plugin that is integrated into the SIP trunk, and has all necessary information to address the device+application endoint, and can finally send the push notification to Apple's APNS?
