Hi there i am trying to set up Vox Sip that is supported by 3CX but its not letting me log on to register the device .

any one know what can be wrong .

i have the IP ********

I have the username *******

and the password ****

but it wont register it keeps trying now and then with no luck any one know how to resolve this as Vox says the system is fine there side ,

Check the 3CX Activity Log, looking at one of the registration attempts, to see if there is any clue as to what might be wrong

Does the firewall test pass

First thing I'd suggest is running the Firewall checker as @Saqqara mentioned and make sure it passes. If it does take a quick look at our guide and make sure that the SIP Trunk has been configured correctly: https://www.3cx.com/docs/vox-south-african-sip-trunk/

If everything seems fine there too, looking into this further by taking a look at the activity log as @leejor mentioned would probably be the next best step. Just remember to enable Verbose Logging mode under "Dashboard >> Activity Log >> Settings" to ensure you have enough information in the logs.

fire all seems fine the logs is popping up with 408 Request Timeout/REGISTER from local

I think what's at fault here is the SIP Port you're using for the SIP Provider. Try switching it to 5060:

As per our PM conversation, it seems the PBX is sending the REGISTER SIP messages correctly but no reply is being received from the SIP Provider indicating that either this traffic is not reaching them at all or that the responses are not reaching the PBX.

I'll leave this open for now in case you manage to get more info from the SIP Provider on this.

Came across a post, from a few years ago, in another forum, where someone says to use port 5070, so you may want to confirm on which port, they do actually want the registration to be sent.

thanks i have try all diffrent ports and not getting data back thought its the fire wall but it not and thought my host ip was blocked but was not the case so not sure what is wrong .. but still looking into it .

Stick to port 5060 as per the template and contact Vox and ask them if they need to whitelist your public IP. If i remember correctly from the testing we did that was needed. If you already gave them an IP make sure you still have the same IP or the requests are not going out from a different one.

If you're 100% sure the traffic is leaving your network this might even be a case of having to contact the ISP.

they gave me a second host ip can use so going test that later ...
That would indeed be the next best thing to try for now.

Thanks all for the help .

so we got system working on AWS there was problem there that it was not sending out data so resetup the whole system and try it with the other IP i got form VOX and gave it 5min and then its been working fine so far ...

so if any one runs into the same problem make sure your system is sending out data to your SIP network .
you can check with them if they getting any data if they dnt see anything then ask for the other IP to use . but if that all fails please try do reinstall and give it a try .

thanks to the 3CX team for all the help and community ..

thanks to @ChrisC_3CX for dms for all help did . think we can mark this as resolved :)
