so just installed our first w80dm. was wondering how people set up redundancy / back up as worried what would have if the dm went off?

If the DM is like the mothership, if goes offline then none of the phones will work similarly to if the switch goes down, none of your IoT things will work.

No, you cannot because the bases will not know that the spare DM exists, and the spare DM would not know that the bases+handsets exist.

You would have to manually configure each base and tell it to connect to the IP of the spare base, then you would have to manually pair each handset to the new DM. This is the same as replacing a DM so it doesn't really count as a backup.

I'm not sure that what you want is doable.
