Hi Everyone,

Looks like Vultr is losing a WAN IP on one of my Linux VM's hosting 3CX, how do I change the IP address (Within on the snapshot I restored for the new 3CX VM). When I try to access the new snapshot it won't load into the webclient or would I need to start a fresh system. I hope thats not the case.

Thanks!

Can you access the VPS by HTTPS://<ip>

If yes, you can login, create a backup, download to local.
Clean VPS, normal clean install 3CX
Restore backup, where you can setup the IP and ports again.

I think this will be the clean way to get this done.

You’re restoring to a new VM? We’re in the process of migrating all ours (internally not Vultr) and (just) had to change the NIC name in /etc/network/interfaces.

Yeah sadly, Vultr requires we do that in order to get a new IP.

I can access it by IP but by domain name it doesn't work. However when I hit it by IP it won't let me go through the web client.

Set the network in 3CX to dynamic temporarily. Note Pro licenses have a 6 hour TTL.

Within the old VM or new replacement VM with the new IP. I am assuming old because I can't get into the web console on the new VM then I would have to make a new snapshot with the setting set to dynamic?

Point, old then. It won’t hurt. But then wait 6h.

And/or since the server is up, modify your hosts file to access the new server by FQDN. That will at least let you log in.
