Web Client in Citrix

Hello, I've read several random posts on running the webclient from within citrix. Is there a document/link with the current supported configuration (if it is supported)?

For my use, the main thing the web client in citrix gives us is the option to download recordings to our internal network. Running outside citrix (on local pc), we don't have access to put recordings where we need them.

But, if the webclient could run as a softphone within citrix, that would be awesome (at least for me).

Anyway, any ideas / suggestions appreciated.

Any real-time media delivery in a terminal session is an emulated process. I am not a Citrix expert or how it defers to Windows TS handling but in TS there is a tremendous lack in the audio processing due to the software layer which generates the sound card output and recording devices... We have not tested it and cannot give any recommendations. Trial and Error. Maybe Citrix holds any further information on this topic.

I've been trying to get my citrix admins to setup something in citrix called Local App Access. This would allow the local pc app (3CX client) to appear in the remote desktop session. This can be thought of as "reverse seamless". In other words, the 3CX client would be running local but look like it is citrix. Anyway, seems like exactly what I need. But, as (bad) luck would have it, my admins are against it. So, I have no idea if this will actually work. If anyone else can give it a try I would be interested to hear about it. RS

Not exactly sure if that would make a difference. That would also rely on having some sort of audio device for input and output, which would also need to somehow connect to the actual remote session, so it may end up being the same.

No, I don't think so. 3CX client would be running normally, locally. So, the audio input/output stays local as usual. What the LAA is supposed to do is basically the reverse of a remote desktop. More like someone controlling your local computer via remote assistance. In other words, it is the 3cx app form window, keyboard and mouse clicks that are going back and forth to the RDP. Not the voip network traffic, not the audio. Anyway, this is based on my reading about the product (so who the heck really knows). If someone, already has LAA active in their citrix environment, then it might be worth a shot. And if anyone tries it, it would be great if they would add to this post. RS

We're looking at this also but there is a lot of tweaking to set up Local App Access in Citrix. Like myrich, I would be really keen to get anyone's experience of trying this.
